The holidays are gone, and the new year is here. In the last few weeks, we’ve attended holiday parties where we’ve received receipt-less gifts that we have no idea how to use. Not sure what to do with that scarf, for example? The wrong color? Tacky print? Scarves can come from the people in our lives who don’t know much about fashion, or ourselves. Remember it was the thought that counts, regardless of how much mindfulness was put into it. If only you could take those unwanted scarves and put them to good use. Scarves are actually the most functional piece of fabric. We have endless options when it comes to using our scarves: don’t want to wear it? Use it as a decorative piece for your home!

- Belt Sash: simply use the scarf as a belt sash, and tie around your outfit
- Shelf Liner: if the pattern or color is too busy for your body, try using this fabric over a shelf as a liner to add color to your furniture
- Canopy Cover: drape or weave your scarf over a canopy bed frame
- Art Piece: try hanging it on the wall as tapestry or framing it as an artistic piece
- Purse Ornament: Tie a scarf around the handles of your purse, schoolbag, or luggage.
- Window Cover: Drape over curtain rods/window to add a touch of color
- Blindfold: Use to cover your eyes while playing games indoors/outdoors
- Throw: Add color to your living room, and use scarves as throw over your couch or chairs
- Rag: If all else fails, use it as a cleanup rag and dispose of it!
