Spotted: One of the coolest vintage totes with a fun floral print. Where? Camden Passage. If you’re in the need of some style inspiration, you definitely have to head to Camden Passage. Not only will you leave inspired, you’ll also find some of the coolest antique shops.

We’ve been on a mission to find some of the most stylish bags in London in association with Kenco Millicano. With the busy Kenco Millicano woman in mind the brand famed for its delicious instant coffee has recently launched “stick packs” – ten individually wrapped servings that fit neatly into your handbag – giving you that smooth, full-bodied taste and rich aroma whenever and wherever you want it.

So with this in mind we’ve been street stalking looking for the most stylish and versatile bags to slip a couple of “stick packs” into whilst snapping some great pics to share with you guys.

After paying a visit to Carnaby Street and Convent Garden where we found a ton of black and tanned bags we moved on to Camden Passage hoping to find more unique offerings. Definitely a good decision!

Aside from the floral beauty (pictured above) we also spied a cute bowling bag embellished with a multi-coloured “car” print. Different and pretty cool may we add. See pic below.

Also on our hit list was A black and white checked bag. Oh and we love the way the owner has accessorised her outfit with the gorgeous brown hat. Quirky and fun!

We did also manage to find a couple of classic bags. Case in point – a dark green tote which we literally wanted to run away with and this lovely beige beauty.

Our next stop? Oxford Street and Bond Street!

If you asked us kids of the nineties to define our childhood with just a few phrases, “girl power” and “The Spice Girls” would undoubtedly reign supreme. 

Therefore, we couldn’t be happier with the fact that Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell has designed a collection for Next which essentially pays homage to the dress we will always remember her for.

“The Union Jack dress was my favorite stage outfit,” Geri said. “With everything that is happening this year such as the Olympics and the Jubilee it just felt the right time to design an updated version of the dress for my range with Next.”

And updated it is – look how modest the new dress is in comparison… you only have to compare the hemline of the two dresses to see the difference! The original was in fact a Gucci dress which her sister sewed a Union Jack tea towel (yes, a tea towel!) on to. It then fetched a staggering £41,320 at auction!

We’re glad we don’t have to part with that much cash to emulate Ginger Spice, as the dress Geri is wearing retails for just £199.

Call it national pride, nostalgia or a bit of both, but we really, really think we may invest.

We couldn’t be more excited to reveal that Lana Del Rey is British Vogue’s March 2012 cover girl, posing prettily for photography legend Mario Testino in a gorgeous Louis Vuitton outfit. 

We should have known that the fashion bible had snapped up THE biggest rising talent of the year so far for the all-important March issue, yet we had no idea – hence our excited but very surprised reaction when we first found out.

We love the soft, elegant and feminine vibe the issue initially gave off, which plays to Lana’s femininity beautifully. We would have thought that, as a self-branded “gangster Nancy Sinatra”, her cover would have been slightly edgier, but we honestly can’t fault British Vogue’s vision.

Despite our earlier gushing, we think Vogue should have chosen any of the editorial pictures below for the cover instead, but that’s the only critique we can give. Cannot wait to get our hands on this!

Sometimes, super-trendy looks can be scary. If they look too runway, or they look like you wouldn’t even know where to start with it, then you may feel like running in the other direction. I can think of nothing more intimidating than the current beauty craze otherwise known as ombre lips.

Nylon is talking about it. InStyle has featured it. The Beauty Department has covered it. It’s been seen on blogs, particularly this awesome tutorial on XSparkage. And I want to talk about how you can nab this two-tone lip look, that makes your pout appear even fuller, for yourself. Here’s the good news: It’s a lot easier than it looks to pull off!

1. Pick your shade. Red, pink, mahogany, plum… it’s up to you. However, I would suggest starting with a darker shade of lipstick.

2. Choose a complimentary shade. Whatever shade you start with, you want to grab another one that will show some contrast, but still looks effortless with your base color. Some of these hue pairings might include: Red and pink, Dark pink and light pink, red and orange, plum and violet.

3. Fill in the entire lip with the darker shade. You should use lipstick, if possible. Try to use a matte formula for easy application.

4. Dab a little bit of the lighter shade in the middle of the lip. You want to put a bit more on the bottom lip than on the top. Voila!

5. For an even easier way to work this trend… Just use one color. Red, pink, plum, orange, whatever! Fill in your entire top lip, and than smack your lips together. This will cause some of the shade to wipe off on the bottom lip. From there, just smooth out the color with a lip pencil. Add a gloss over top if you like the shiny look. (Check out the XSparkage tutorial in case you need a visual aide.) And that’s it. Literally. So simple!

With ombre lips, I’d keep the rest of your make-up simple. Little mascara, little pink on the cheeks. That’s all you need with this.

So, don’t be scared of this trend. Go rock it, ladies!

The Oscar-nominated actress couldn’t be more spring-ready if she tried, as she stepped out in New York in a floral, pastel shift dress from Erdem’s spring/summer 2012 collection while on her way to The Late Show with David Letterman.

A dress as busy and fabulous as Michelle’s Erdem number requires relatively fuss-free accessories, but of course, Michelle knows that; hence why she teamed her designer dress with simple sky-scraping grey Giuseppe Zanotti peep-toe slingbacks and scarlet lipstick and nail polish.

And don’t you think Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton would also look divine in this very same dress? We know she is a huge fan of Erdem and floral, so we’d love to see the results if she paired them both together.

Now a Michelle v Kate fashion face off is something we’d all like to see, don’t you think?

Ah, suddenly all is right with the world again. After a painfully long mid-season break, Gossip Girl returned to our screens this week, and now one of its main stars has returned to our magazine covers! 

Blake Lively, aka Serena van der Woodsen, is posing beautifully for the Elle US March 2012 front cover in a halter-neck Victoria Beckham dress – a fine, fine choice of cover star for a March issue we must say.

Although we feel this layout and colour scheme is a little “been there, done that” (it kind of reminds of us Britney Spears’ Harper’s Bazaar cover from June 2011 with the long, flowing blonde locks, sideways posing and white ensemble) but as always, Ms Lively has brought something new to the table and has made it work for her.

Tom Munro has captured Miss Lively at her best angles (which, as it happens, is all of them!) in a fine selection of hot-off-the-runway clothes from the likes of Isabel Marant, Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors.

Blake Lively is more than just a pretty face (and gorgeous body), as she provided a very real – and sometimes downright funny – interview to accompany her editorial pictures.  Our favourite snippet came while she was discussing having children…

“I hope to have a few girls one day,” she said. “If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”

Amen! The March 2012 issue of Elle magazine is very fittingly out on Valentine’s Day!

Here it is! Just last week we showed you a very sneaky peek of VB’s video for her new, lower priced line, Victoria Victoria Beckham, but now we have the whole thing in all its glory for you! 

The video, directed by Quentin Jones, is just perfect for the youthful, chic nature of Victoria’s new line – not only is it hugely imaginative, bright and quirky, but it features lots and lots of cats – amazing!

“For the Victoria line I wanted to appeal to a slightly younger audience – super chic but with a sense of humour and an edge and that’s exactly what Quentin brought to the creative process,” Victoria said in a press release. “I really wanted to capture the essence of the playful feminine character at the heart of the collection and Quentin has realised that for me in her unique, innovative style.”

As well as watching the video several times on your laptops (like us!) you can also catch it on display in the windows of Harvey Nichols, which incidentally is where you can browse and shop the entire collection. And yes, there are cats there too!

This week, we’ve seen videos from both Mr Beckham and now Mrs Beckham, but which one do you prefer? We know it’s a tough decision, but let’s make it interesting!

What fresh hell is this, then? The folks at the Advertising Standards Authority have deemed yet another beauty ad unsuitable and have consequently banned it. The ad in question features gorgeous 41-year-old beauty Rachel Weisz (or Mrs Daniel Craig) for the L’Oreal Revitalift Clinical Repair 10. 

Can you guess the reason for the ASA preventing this ad from seeing the light of day in Britain? You’re right – it’s because the guys in post production got a bit too Photoshop-happy!

“The beauty and advertising industries need to stop ripping off consumers with dishonest images,” a rep for the ASA said. “We considered that the image had been altered in a way that substantially changed her complexion to make it appear smoother and more even. We therefore concluded that the image in the ad misleadingly exaggerated the performance of the product.”

L’Oreal has since defended the ad, claiming that Rachel’s perfect skin was down to clever lighting and a professional beauty team in order to portray her “as favourably as possible”…

Again – we see where the ASA is coming from but don’t think this ad is the worst culprit for over-airbrushing. Do you think the ASA is insulting the intelligence of modern day consumers or do you think it is making a valid point?

We think the fashion gods have been doing some eavesdropping, as it’s only been a matter of days since we gushed about our love of Jennifer Lopez’s Alberta Ferretti coat but knew that we probably wouldn’t be able to afford it.  

It now looks like we are one step closer to owning a little piece of Alberta, as the designer is collaborating with Macy’s for a slightly more affordable collection!

Alberta Ferretti will be lending her designing talents to the very popular ‘Impulse line’, which a host of fabulous designers – including Matthew Williamson and Karl Lagerfeld – have worked on in the past.

“The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style,” the Italian designer told British Vogue.

The 30-piece collection will be sold for a ten week period beginning April 17^th, with prices ranging from just $49 to $119.
